Divine Bastion - 28, 15 and 10mm Scale tabletop terrain for Sci-Fi & Grimdark wargaming

• Divine Bastion, a Failed Arcology. The Theodorian Cult was adept at both converting established human societies to their faith and pioneering new ways to establish human presence on uninhabitable or perilous planets. Their arcologies, massive and self-sufficient      structures, made human habitation possible even in the harshest of environments. However, not all were successful. Among them was the Divine Bastion on Norax Tertius, a planet enveloped in dense forests and overrun with creatures beyond description. Every foot of land claimed came at a great price. The Divine Bastion was a marvel of religious and defensive architecture that rose like a monolith from the untamed wilderness. Its vast halls and sanctuaries, living quarters, communal areas, and hydroponic gardens, all built with an eye for both function and symbolism. The living spaces featured subtle religious motifs, and the gardens were arranged in patterns reflecting the Theodorian truth. Despite its architectural magnificence and the devotion of its inhabitants, it could not withstand the relentless assault of Norax Tertius' savage environment. Over time, its once-imposing structure succumbed to the relentless growth of the forest and the onslaught of its monstrous denizens. Now, its vast halls and sanctuaries lie in ruins, silent witnesses to the Theodorian Cult's lofty aspirations.

This homogenous approach, initially seen as a strength, proved to be a critical vulnerability.

As the challenges of Norax Tertius grew – its harsh climate and aggressive wildlife mounting relentless pressure – the Bastion's inhabitants, steeped in their unwavering practices, found themselves unequipped to adapt. The structure, both in its physical form and societal framework, was rigid, unable to flex and evolve with the demands of their surroundings.

When nature's wrath descended upon the Bastion, the once-impenetrable walls, built to reflect a singular vision, could not withstand the onslaught. The community, having lived in a bubble of uniform thought and action, was overwhelmed by the unpredictability and ferocity of the world outside.

In its current state, overrun by the wilderness it once sought to master, the remains of the Divine Bastion stand as a cautionary tale. Its deserted halls whisper of the importance of innovation, and the ability to adapt in a universe where change is the only constant.”
